Pat McMurray

A third-generation native of Boise, Pat McMurray has spent his life serving the community that has shaped him. From his early days in the North End to his leadership in civic organizations, Pat’s connection to Boise runs deep. His career in banking saw him rise to President of First Security Bank of Idaho at just 39 years old, later becoming Wells Fargo's regional president and CEO. Throughout his 37-year tenure, Pat championed many community organizations, from St. Luke’s Children's Hospital to affordable housing initiatives.

Pat’s ties to St. Luke’s Health System are especially meaningful, with the hospital playing a significant role in his family’s history, as it’s where his brother, wife, and two sons were born. As chair of the St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, Pat supported key initiatives like the Women’s Forum and served as the first ambassador for Kid For A Night, a signature Foundation fundraising event.

His leadership extends beyond St. Luke’s, including roles such as chair of the University of Idaho Foundation, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (Salt Lake City division), and the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation. Pat and his wife, Lisa, have co-chaired major events like FUNDSY and are both deeply involved in Boise’s civic culture and engagement. Lisa’s leadership in the community is equally impactful, including her role as a trustee of the Boise Art Museum, all while supporting Pat's career and raising their beautiful family.

Pat’s lifelong dedication to improving Boise and his strong connection to the St. Luke’s community make him a deserving recipient of the Ralph J. Comstock, Jr. Light of Philanthropy Award. The award is particularly special, as Pat’s mentor and longtime friend, Ralph Comstock, also served as president of First Security Bank, creating a unique bond between two generations of leadership. Pat’s legacy of service, leadership, and humanitarianism continues to inspire, leaving a lasting mark on the community he has tirelessly supported. We are honored to recognize him as our 2024 Light of Philanthropy Award recipient.

We invite you to honor Pat McMurray’s exceptional service to our community by supporting St. Luke’s Children’s, a cause close to his and Lisa’s hearts. They have thoughtfully chosen St. Luke’s Children’s as the beneficiary of the 2024 Light of Philanthropy event, ensuring your contributions will make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in need.
